1. A Serious Health Hazard

Smoke residue is a complex mixture of acids, chemicals, and carcinogens.

• Inhalation Risk: Soot particles are often microscopic and can be inhaled deep into the lungs, causing respiratory distress, asthma attacks, and long-term health issues.
• Skin Contact: Handling sooty items without gloves can cause skin irritation.

2. An Acidic, Corrosive Substance

Soot is not just "dust." It is highly acidic.

• Within minutes, it can discolor plastics and grout.
• Within hours, it can begin to etch glass, tile, and metal finishes (like faucets and light fixtures).
• Within days, it can cause permanent, irreversible damage to your property.

What NOT to Do:

• DO NOT try to clean it yourself. Standard cleaning products will smear the oily soot, making it impossible to remove.
• DO NOT use your home vacuum. A regular vacuum will not filter the microscopic particles and will simply shoot them back into the air, spreading the contamination.
• DO NOT turn on your HVAC system. This will circulate the toxic soot through your entire home.

Our Professional Smoke & Soot Removal Process

• Assessment: We identify the type of soot (e.g., dry, oily, protein) to determine the correct cleaning method.
• HEPA Vacuuming: We use specialized vacuums with HEPA filters to capture the finest particles from all surfaces.
• Specialized Cleaning: We use professional "soot sponges" to lift residue, followed by chemical cleaners to remove oily stains.
• Deodorization: We use "air scrubbers" to clean the air and thermal foggers or ozone generators to neutralize the odor at a molecular level.
• HVAC Cleaning: We professionally clean your ductwork to ensure no particles are left behind.
